Sometimes it is necessary, by changing demants or shifting from transported goods, to obtain another type of railcar. This usually leads to high costs and a logistical nightmare, aspecially when it involves a larger number of railcars. Let alone the availibilty in the market. Our engineering departement may then be of assistance setting up a plan for the rebuild of your current railcars to a more suitable type.

A fine example of such a rebuild is a project we worked on last year to convert some fourty open coil railcars for transporting steel to closed railcars with a movable canopy. This project was enginered by RSK together with Lloyds Registered Rail on order of Corus Steel in IJmuiden and was carried out by our mechanics on location at Corus.

But also more specific rebuilds can be realized. Last year we rebuild a railcar that was used for tightening the grit under the rail tracks to a surveilance railcar for track inspection, complete with camera's and own power source on board.

Offcourse we're not limited to railcars. RSK can also help you for instance with designing and building loading stations. Our competence lies with liquids and gasses but with our years of experience, we can also brainstorm with you on solutions in dry bulk transshipments on any sort of transportation (truck, railcar or ship).
